Brownies

Here is a recipe for oven baked brownies I use. It is a recipe I found online and the link to the original website should be found below in with the references. You can make just the brownies without the frosting but I highly recommend the frosting as well, it really completes the brownies.

Ingredients (For Brownies):

  • ½ cup butter

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder

Ingredients (For Frosting):

  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened

  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar

Instructions (For Brownies):

  1. Preheat oven to 350℉ and grease and flour an 8 inch x 8 inch pan.

  2. Melt the butter in a large saucepan, then remove from heat.

  3. Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Then beat in cocoa, flour salt and baking powder. Spread batter into pan evenly.

  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes (until top is dry and edges start to pull away from the sides of the pan).*

Instructions (For Frosting)*:

  1. Combine softened butter, confectioners' sugar, cocoa, honey and vanilla extract in a bowl.

  2. Stir until smooth and frost brownies while they are warm (not immediately after coming out of the oven).

This should yield about 12-16 brownies depending on how big you cut them


*I recommend preparing the frosting while the brownies bake.
